Cheno Lyfe drops a new video that features respected SOFLA rappers Rhema Soul and Anthony Rose. Cheno’s sophomore album ‘Lunar’ hits stores on July 23.
2013 has already been a historic year for South Florida’s faith based Hip Hop scene. The Miami duo Social Club (F.E.R.N and Marty Mar) shattered records when their EP ‘Rejects’ debuted in the top 10 on iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap and Rey King co-produced/co-wrote Day 1 by Leslie Grace, a record that charted #1 on Billboard’s Tropical chart. 2013 is just another example of South Florida’s Christian Hip Hop scene consistently dropping innovative material. Did we mention that 2013 isn’t over? You already knew that though.
Despite everything that has already transpired in the first half of the year; SOFLA is gearing up to make the third and fourth quarter even more impressive. 4 Miami heavyweights have announced that they are dropping their upcoming projects this year. Rhema Soul, Rey King, Cheno Lyfe and Anthony Rose all have highly anticipate records coming out in the “near” future. With all the growth we have seen in Christian Hip Hop anything can happen when four of the best artists, with the same vision, drop a project in the same time span. Here are the titles of four upcoming projects that just may change the game.
Rhema Soul – Dope Beats and Good News Vol.2
Rhema Soul (@itsknuff @itsjuanlove @buttap) has become known as one of the best faith based Hip Hop collectives in the game. They have collaborated with artists like Thi’sl, Benjah, Jai, Shonlock, Ryan Stevenson, Rey King, Social Club and much more. The trio has four solid projects under their belt and shows no signs of slowing down. Their last record ‘Red’ was produced by Andy Anderson (Group One Crew, Toby Mac) and South Florida affiliates Rey King and A.D. (Heart Official). The second installment to their ‘Dope Beats & Good News’ series is coming out soon. G-Styles aka Gawvi (Lecrae. Trip Lee, Andy Mineo and more) will be the producer behind this one. Stayed tuned to FNFLive for the official ‘Dope Beats & Good News Vol.2’cover, release date and tracklist.
Rey King – TLHD
Rey King, the man responsible for classic SOFLA records like ‘Young God’ and ‘Black Friday: The Mixtape’ is dropping TLHD (The Love Hate Demo) at some point in the summer. The rapper/producer is recognized for his work on projects by artists like Rhema Soul, Social Club, Rey Cruz and Latina superstar Leslie Grace. ‘THLD’ is definitely worth getting.
Cheno Lyfe – Lunar
Cheno Lyfe made some significant noise with his freshman album ‘Home’, a project that debuted and remained #1 on many online retail stores. Mr.305 looks to follow that up successfully with a new album entitled ‘Lunar’. His sophomore album ‘Lunar’ hits stores on July 23. Cheno has worked with artists like Group One Crew, Rhema Soul, D-Maub, and Social Club, to name a few. The tracklist for ‘Lunar’ will be released soon.

Cheno Lyfe releases new single, ‘Stop Me’ Ft. DawnChere
There is a new urban gospel sound brewing out of New York by way of some serious artists who not only love God, but are totally sold out to making great music.
At the forefront is Chris Jackson (Twitter: @ItsChrisJackson).
The funny thing about Jackson is that he is not a newcomer by any means. He’s an accomplished producer and songwriter (Toni Braxton, Cheryl Cole (Pop Stars, UK) Marcus Canty (X-Factor), LeToya Luckett etc. with singles currently climbing Billboards Top R&B/Hip Hop charts at a rapid pace (“You Come First” by RCA Artist Jacob Latimore). His current mixtape, No Pressure has already laid the foundation for what his camp, A-Minor Musik Group calls an “unprecedented career in Gospel Music.”
Jackson is no stranger to FNFLive, haven’t had his hit (and we do mean a HIT) single “Rear View Mirror” getting lots of love in SoFlo. A follow-up interview with @Jblaze305 gave listeners an insight into Jackson, who at the time didn’t even have an EP out.
So now fast forward to No Pressure, a “quick trip” into the life and world of Chris Jackson. It is a mixtape of a different kind, one that fuses old school Good News messages with new school lyrics, sounds, and instrumentation. Leading the charge for the mixtape is Incredible, a serious uptempo jam that is an clear example of the old school, new school fusion. If you’re a 90′s kid, you’ll find yourself quickly playing, “Name that Tune” or “Name the Artist” and then quickly realize that Jackson is truly making the jam all his own.
Most notable records on the mixtape are Lay It On Me, Call Your Name, and the song that everyone will be able to relate to, be grateful for, and really go through some serious self evaluation to is His Pain. The tune takes you on an assessment of one’s purpose in God.
Look. Click the album cover below to get the mixtape. You need it in your life. No pressure though.
