Iconic singer, Whitney Houston, died this past Friday. She was 48.
We here at FNFLive.com are saddened by the news of such a musical icon. Whitney has brought such a level of both musicianship and artistry to the industry that has been the standard of many artists. Coming from a musical family, Houston has shown her vocal ability early and all of her years in the industry has earned her numerous awards. Guiness Book of World Records cited as the most-awarded female of all time. Her awards include two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, and 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards in her lifetime. Houston was also one of the world’s best-selling music artists, having sold over 170 million albums, singles and videos worldwide.
Most notable though, is Whitney’s contribution to Christian music. She appeared in the movie, “The Preacher’s Wife” with Denzel Washington and performed on the soundtrack. The Preacher’s Wife soundtrack became the best-selling gospel album in history.
Despite her personal struggles, Whitney Houston is still considered the world’s greatest female singer. We salute her and send our condolences to her family and friends.
